An armed, masked man robbed the Kangaroo Travel Center on Dothan Road early Saturday around 1:35 a.m.

The suspect is described as a white male around 5’10”. The suspect was wearing a camouflage jacket and cap and had his face partially covered with a mask or scarf and had a black handgun, said Bainbridge Public Safety investigator Major Robert Humphrey.

The robber stole $289 in various bills and two packs of cigarettes. The store employee was returning from the back of the store when the man demanded money. Humphrey said that few words were reportedly exchanged, but that the employee heard the man say something along the lines of, “I’m the police.”

The robbery was videoed through the store’s security camera, and investigators are circulating screenshot images of the man.
