James Franklin Brown, 72, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herman Hand and Rev. Thomas Boozer officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Mr. Brown was born February 5, 1942 in Cook County, Georgia, the son of Clarence O’Del Brown and Jewel Lee Montgomery. He served in the United States Army and worked as a supervisor for Sanfilippo for several years. He was a member of the Hardee’s Coffee Club and enjoyed singing at local nursing homes. Mr. Brown loved to spend his free time fishing.
Survivors include his children, Franklin Dewayne Brown and his wife, Avanell, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Turtia B. Novak and her husband, Steve, of Bainbridge, and Del Brown and his wife, Joy, of Kite, Georgia; his sister, Myrtle B. Sheffield of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Shelly, Alaecia, Alexa, Alicia, Alena, Gunnar, Boulder, Janet, Elizabeth, and Christian; his great-grandchildren, Brock, Dustin, Alex, Travis, Cordell, Dakota, Colton, Corbin and Adrianna, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Brown’s family is thankful for his longtime friend and companion, Darlene Cloud, of Bainbridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Barbara Chaney and Hazel Chancey and his brother Willie Rufus Brown.
