Lady Cats take loss to Colquitt Co. Thursday

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats bowed 50-47 to Colquitt County High School Tuesday in Moultrie.
The loss was the first of the season for the Lady Cats, who are now 3-1 overall. They defeated the Lady Packers 40-31 in their Tuesday, Dec. 2, season opener at Bainbridge.
“I liked the comeback ability we showed last night against Colquitt County,” Lady Cats coach Kelvin Cochran said Wednesday. “We cut the lead down to one late, but then we they hit two free throws to get it back to three.”
Patra Parris led the Lady Cats in scoring with 16 points. She also had some key rebounds down the stretch. Tameria Levens was also in double figures for the Lady Cats with 12.
The game was close throughout. The Lady Packers led 13-11 at the end of the first quarter. They outscored the Lady Cats 17-12 in the second quarter to take a 30-23 halftime lead.
The Bearcats outscored their hosts 10-8 in the third quarter pull two within 38-33 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Cats returned to action Friday hosting Albany’s Westover High School Lady Patriots. They will host the Worth County Lady Rams tonight in Sylvester. Tuesday they will return home Tuesday against the Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets.
Their pre-season regular season schedule will conclude with home games against the Thomas County Central High School Lady Yellow Jackets Tuesday, Dec. 16, and the Cairo High School Syrupmaids Friday, Dec. 19, and a Saturday, Dec. 20, road game against the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs.
They will open play in the Dec. 26, 27 and 29 Thomasville High School Holiday Hoopfest Monday against the Seminole County High School Lady Indians at 4 p.m.
