The Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats basketball teams divided a pair of preseason scrimmage games against the Early County High School Bobcats and Lady Bobcats Tuesday in Blakely.
Coach Rickey McCullough’s Bearcats defeated the Bobcats 94-74 and coach Kelvin Cochran’s Lady Cats dropped a close 61-56 decision to the Lady Bobcats.

The Bearcats, who were down by seven points after three quarters, scored 45 points in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Cats were led by Patra Parris with 30 points. Alexis Russ contributed
nine points.
Both coaches said they were very pleased with their teams’ efforts against Early County.
“We played hard and hustled the whole game,” McCullough said. “I have never had a team score 45 points in the fourth quarter before.”
Cochran also complimented the way his players played despite the disappointing loss.
“We did a lot of good things,” Cochran said. “We did a good job of getting the ball to the open shooter.”
The Bearcats and Lady Cats will open their regular season against the Colquitt County High School Packers and Lady Packers Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Bainbridge High School Gymnasium.
The girls game will begin at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow.
