GCA Cougars start season 2-1, McRae sets point record

Dr. Mallory McRae’s Grace Christian Academy Cougars basketball team divided a pair of games with Florida teams during the past week.
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, they lost to the Maclay High School Mauraders 49-37 in Tallahassee, and on Monday, Nov. 24, they defeated Robert F. Munroe School 59-28 in Quincy.
The Cougars, who are 2-1 overall, and 0-0 in Georgia Independent Schools Association class AA Region 3, will return to action Monday, Dec. 1, when they take on the Byne Christian School Saints at 6 p.m. in Albany.
Leading the way for the Cougars against Maclay were Jack McRae with 18 points and eight rebounds. Trey Webb added eight points and Trey Dudley scored five points and pulled down six rebounds.
Josh Austinson scored four points and pulled down five rebounds. Jack McRae, Sam McRae and Nate Walton each had a steal against Maclay.
Leading the way for the Cougars against Robert F. Munroe were Jack McRae with 26 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks. McRae scored his 1,500th career point during the game. Sam McRae added 11 points and three steals. Tray Webb scored 10 points.
Nate Walton pulled down 5 rebounds, Trey Dudley pulled down 4 rebounds and Andres Austinson pulled down 3 rebounds.
