B. Marvin Harrell, 86, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Roberts and Rev. Steve Poppell officiating. Interment was at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with his grandsons and nephews serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Harrell was born November 1, 1928 in Bainbridge, the son of Levi Pender Harrell and Earle Brock Harrell. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. B. Marvin was a farmer most of his life and after retirement worked as warehouse manager for the Decatur County Board of Education for 10 years. He was a member of Sutton Chapel United Methodist Church and for a period served as the church treasurer and was active in the United Methodist Men. Mr. Harrell served as president of Farm Bureau from 1968 to 1971, was a founding director of Goldkist in Bainbridge, and was a Bainbridge FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margie Harrell of Bainbridge; his children, Byrl M. Harrell, Jr. of Bainbridge and Gail Harrell Heard and her husband Stacey of Colquitt; his six grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Lee Harrell; and his siblings, John M. Harrell, Robert L. Harrell, Christine H. Adams, Iona H. Dean, and Claree H. Pate.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
