Mr. Glen H. Whiddon Sr., 79, passed away November 5, 2014 in Tallahassee, Florida.
He was born February 4, 1935 in Decatur County, Ga., to Chester W. Whiddon Sr. and Nora Clark Whiddon.
He served proudly with the U.S. Navy Seabees and was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Seminole.
He and Ernestine Clark were married June 8, 1954 and have been married for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife; his son, Glen Hayes Whiddon Jr. of Bainbridge (Lake Seminole); a daughter, Brenda (Joseph) Jowers of Chattahoochee, Fla.; two sisters, Agnes Barbree of Grand Ridge, Fla. and Jimmie Ellis of Iron City, Ga.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, with military honors by the American Legion Post 241 of Sneads, Fla.
Charles McClellan Funeral Home of Quincy was in charge of arrangements.
