Noted artist and designer of fashion jewelry, John Wind, will make a personal appearance at Reeve’s Linens and Gifts on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is Wind’s second visit to Bainbridge and he is bringing a trunk load of new jewelry with him. He will be accompanied by an assistant who can help customers needing repairs, alteration of vintage pieces, or custom work.
Although he was born in Isreal, he was raised in Philadelphia, has studied fine art at the Slade School of Art in London, and began showing his work in the U.S. in 1985.
His designs have been featured in numerous magazines and books including Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, In Style, Oprah, The New York Times. He has permanent collections shown in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
He is well-known in Georgia and the South for his “southern” jewelry designs, as he has been inspired to incorporate the peanut, cotton bolls and Georgia’s Cherokee rose into his bracelets, earrings and necklaces.
Wind describes his style as maximal art.
