James Stanley Cowart

Mr. Stanley Cowart, 53, of Colquitt, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 2, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cory Thomas officiating.
Interment followed at Flat Creek Cemetery with DJ Hunt, Zack Jaye,
John Hurley, Josh Cowart, Kevin Bellflower, Russ Toole, Rusty Jones, and Gerald Mock serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the Miller County High School Pirate 2013-2014 Baseball Team, Eddie Whitaker, Woodie Kirkland, and Vic Fleet.
Mr. Cowart was of the Baptist faith and was a farmer.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 22-1/2 years, Susan Miller Cowart of Colquitt; one son, Michael (Katie) Cowart of Colquitt; two daughters, Jamie (Zack Jaye) Cowart of Colquitt, and Ashley Sammon of Colquitt; two grandchildren, Michaela Cowart and Zack Jaye, Jr.; mother-in-law, Mildred Miller of Colquitt; four sisters, Veda Bellflower of Bainbridge, Joanne (Randy) Morris of Iron City, Gwen (Buster) Hurley of Iron City, and Brenda (Ray) Hunter of Iron City; two brothers, Wayne (Brenda) Cowart of Iron City, and Gene (Brenda) Cowart of Colquitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cowart was preceded in death by his father, Aristo Cowart; his mother, Eunice Cook; one brother, Jimmy Toole; brother-in-law, Jimmy Bellflower; and father-in-law, Charlie Miller.
Sheffield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
