The Bainbridge Middle School seventh grade Bearcats football team will again count on their dominant running tandem of Sam Boutwell and Eddie Choice Wednesday when they travel to Cairo High School’s West Thomas Stadium to take on the Washington Middle School Tigers in the Southwest Georgia Middle School League’s seventh grade championship game.
Kickoff will be at 5 p.m.
The Tigers finished first and the Bearcats finished second in regular season league play.
“Boutwell, who plays both quarterback and running back, can throw and run with equal effectiveness. Choice is difficult to bring down. He does a good job of breaking tackles,” seventh grade coach Blake Carruthers said. “Our team has played hard all season. The offensive and defensive lines have been doing a good job. They have blocked and tackled well.”
The offensive line features Kendall Glover, Jeremiah Rogers, Colby Strickland and Jeremiah Rogers.
“We are solid at both our offensive and defensive fronts,” Carruthers said. “Our blocking and tackling have been good all season.”
The team’s defensive linemen include Jackson Wheeler, Nicholas Douglas, Amari Scott and Austin Phillips. Linebackers are Wyatt Wilson, Jarvis Martin, and Darrick Smalley.
