Funeral services for Larry E. Wade will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at 3 p.m. at St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church, 1190 Calvary Rd., S.W., Cairo, Ga., with Elder Jimmy Simmons, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Walden Cemetery, Whigham, Ga.
Larry was born Feb. 6, 1956, to Harvey Wade and Mattie L. Wade. He departed this life on Sunday, October 12, 2014.
He attended and graduated from the Decatur County School System. He was employed with Milwhite/Zemex Mining Company for over 30 years. He was presently working with Air Conditioning Technology in Thomasville.
He accepted Christ at an early age, joining Lily Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Climax. He also attended St. Clair Primitive Baptist Church in Cairo. Larry loved and worshipped our savior Jesus Christ. He provided lawn services to both St. Luke and St. Clair Churches.
Honorary Pallbearers are the employees of Air Conditioning Technology of Thomasville. Active pallbearers are Jacoby Davis, Allen James, Lonnie Cole, Fred Glasper, Jasman Flowers and Deontevious Wade.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Wade; father-in-law, Deacon Norman Higdon Jr.; two brothers, Nathaniel Wade and Joseph Wade; sister-in-law, Judy R. Wade and brother-in-law Tyrone “Pop” Higdon.
Survivors include: his wife, Louise Diane Wade, Whigham; sons, Demonta (QuaShundria) Higdon of Ft. Valley, Ga. and Da’Keidres Wade of Whigham; daughter Chrishunda (Bryant) Dawson of Cairo; grandchildren, Kentravian Hardy, Bryant Dawson Jr. Stefani Re’Nai Dawson, all of Cairo, Kaleb Higdon and Kelton Higdon, both of Ft. Valley; mother, Mattie L. Wade of Climax; mother-in-law, Mandy Higdon, of Whigham; brothers, Jerome (Lisa) Wade and Charles Wade, both of Climax; sisters, Rutha Bell Wade of Tacoma, Wash., Christine (Parless) Smiley of Lakeland, Tenn., Norvia (Clinton) Stubbs, Bainbridge; brothers-in-law, Deacon Wesley (Elder Annette) Higdon, Cairo; Mathis McCoggle, Tampa, Fla; sisters-in-law, Vicky (Beverly) Flowers, Climax, Virginia Williams, Tampa, Wilona Wade, Bainbridge, Luevinna Wade, Sardis, Ga.; aunts, Mary (Pair) Cooper, Climax, Regina Anders, West Palm Beach, Fla., Essie Mock, Climax, Laura Davis, Wilmington, Dela.; special friend Herbert Smiley of Bainbridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
