Miss Ola Wilder

Ola Wilder, beloved sister and loyal friend, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.  She passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia, after a prolonged illness.

Ola was born January 20, 1944, to Harvey Wilder and Thelma Louise Pollock Wilder, in Riverside Hospital, Bainbridge, Georgia.  The baby of three girls, she was born with Down’s syndrome.  She lived to be quite old, considering her condition. She was well cared for by her family and medical professionals.  Ola had resided in Camellia Gardens of Life Care for eight years.

Miss Wilder was preceded in death by her father, mother, and her much loved niece, Eugenia Tatum Avant.  She is survived by two sisters, Mary Louise Williamson and husband, Tony of Climax, and Anne Leigh Avant-Logue of Tallahassee, Florida; two nephews, David A. Avant, III and wife, Jessica, and William Patrick Williamson; four great-nephews, David A. Avant, IV, Bridger and Brantley Avant, and Charlie Williamson.

The service was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the Climax United Methodist Church, Climax, Georgia.  Rev. Lynn Hurley and Rev. Wayne McDonald officiated.  The interment followed at Delwood Cemetery in Mitchell County, Georgia.  Treaver Pollock, Treaver Lee Pollock, J. E. Foister, Wayne Thomas, Larry Jones, and Jimmy Pollock served as pallbearers.
