Third arrest made in Crisp County murder

CORDELE, Ga. – The Americus Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office are announcing the arrest of a third suspect in the murder of Crisp County resident Jasperin Armstrong, 20.
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, GBI agents and Crisp County Sheriff’s Investigators, assisted by Bainbridge Public Safety Department officers and Decatur County Sheriff’s deputies, arrested Andreika Lynette Harper, 26, residing at 705 N. Miller Avenue, Bainbridge, Georgia, for the charges of Murder, Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault at the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office in Bainbridge, Georgia.
Previously arrested in the case were Rocquel Quinton Chavers, 30, also from Bainbridge, and Rontavious Dominic Towns, 21, of Cordele, Georgia. Both were charged with Murder, Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault in the case.
Armstrong’s body was located adjacent to a rural road in Crisp County on Friday, Sep. 12, 2014. An extensive investigation by the GBI, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, the Cordele Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol, the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole, the Georgia Department of Corrections Probation Office, the United States Marshall’s Service, the Bainbridge Public Safety Department and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrests.
