Voter registration deadline is Oct. 6, early voting starts Oct. 13

The last day to register for the Nov. 4 General Election is Monday, Oct. 6.

Also, if you have moved, changed your name or not voted in more than six years, now would be a good time to ensure your voter information is current to avoid any problems on election day.

The following locations may assist you with registering to vote or if you need to update your voter registration information:

Early voting
• The Office of the Board of Elections and Registration in the Courthouse Annex, located at 122 W. Water St., which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The Georgia Department of Driver Services’ new location at 101 Airport Road, which is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• The Southwest Georgia Regional Library, located at 301 S. Monroe St., which is open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early voting for the General Election begins on Monday, Oct. 13, at the Fairgrounds, Chamber 1 Building, which is located at 1211 Vada Road in Bainbridge. The dates and times for early voting are the following:
• Monday, Oct. 13, through Friday, Oct. 17, and Monday, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 24; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Monday, Oct. 27, through Friday, Oct. 31, which is the last day to vote early, is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

No voting will take place on Monday, Nov. 3. Also, there will be no voting at the Office of the Board of Elections and Registration.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, polls open at all of the county’s nine precincts 7 a.m., and will close at 7 p.m.
