Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Northside Methodist Academy Lady Knights from Dothan, Alabama, Thursday at Perry Memorial Gymnasium.
The Lady Knights won the first set 25-18, won the second set 25-17 and won the third set 25-16.
Leading the way for the Lady Cougars were Kelsey Harrell with eight kills and five digs and Perrra Harrell, who converted seven of seven serves for a perfect 100 percent.
Defensive specialist Sarah Castoro converted 11 of 12 serves for a strong 92 percent and had six digs.
Middle hitter Kaitlyn Holcombe had two blocks and Lindsey Duke had 14 assists. The Lady Cougars are now 5-2 overall and 1-1 in Georgia Independent Schools Association Region 2.
Coach Harrell took full blame for his team’s Thursday home loss to Northside Methodist.
“We were not ready to play against Northside Methodist and that is my fault,” he said.
