L. Guy “Buddy” Eidson, Jr., 67, of Faceville, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Guy Heard, Mike Wilson, Nickolas Wilson, Heath Busby, Charles Fitzgerald, and Chad Knight serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Dean, Douglas Dean, Dale Brock, and Junior Joiner.

Mr. Eidson was born Feb. 9, 1947 in Lagrange, Ga., the son of Landers Guy Eidson, Sr. and Linda Vilene Willis Eidson. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1964 and retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Eidson was a member of Covenant Christian Church.
Buddy or “Little Bit” loved movies, surfing the internet, US History, and
submarines. Mr. Eidson was a political junkie, but above all he loved his
family.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Olga Parr Eidson of Faceville; his children, Wayne Eidson and his wife, Heather, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Tony Eidson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Ursula Oliver and her husband, Todd, of Jacksonville; his sister, Jan Mason and her husband James of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Nickolas Wilson, Theresa Davis, Adrian Eidson, Kaley Eidson, Trevor Eidson, Connor Eidson, and Landon Eidson; and a special friend, Rebecca McCook. Buddy also considered Benjie as a part of his family and a very important part of his everyday life.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby V. Eidson, Doris Joiner and Joan Dean.
