Harris, Greene lead cross-country at Lee County Invitational

The Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams turned in strong efforts Saturday at the Lee County High School and Middle School Trojans and Lady Trojans Invitational Meet in Leesburg.
Brendon Greene won a medal for finishing 10th overall with a time of 19:07 while helping lead his team to a strong second place finish in a 15-team high school boys field. The top four Bearcats high school boys finishers behind Greene were Bennett Enfinger, Perry Waddell, Wright Cook and Grayson Graham.
The Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats, who finished a strong fourth in a 15 team field, They were led by Caleb Harris who took first place overall with a time of 11:28.
The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats came in ninth in a strong 14-team field. The Bainbridge Middle School Lady Cats finished seventh in a strong 12 team field with many runners turning in their best times of the year.
The Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge Middle Bearcats and Lady Cats cross country teams will host the 15th annual Bearcat and Lady Cat Invitational Meet Saturday at he Bainbridge High School track. Competition will begin with the varsity girls run at 9 a.m.
Bainbridge High School coach Yvette Greene and Bainbridge Middle School coach Greta Conner both said they were very pleased with their Teams performances in Leesburg and are looking forward to them performing before a home crown at Saturdays Invitational.
