Linda Lane Owens

Linda Lane Owens passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2014, at Willson Hospice in Albany, Georgia. She was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on September 27, 1952, to E.V. and Niza Newberry Lane. She married Eddie Owens on August 16, 1986.
She graduated from Bainbridge High School and attained B.S. and M.S. degrees from Georgia Southwestern University. She worked as a paralegal for Long, Weinberg and Wheeler in Atlanta. In Dawson, she was a teacher at Lillie Cooper Primary School and Carver Elementary School where she was chosen Teacher of the Year. She taught at Darton College in Albany, and wrote online curriculum for ABC Teach.com.
She is survived by her husband; two children, Bree O. Sullivan and husband Stephen of Thomasville, Ga., and Frank Harvey and wife Stacy of Albany; and five grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Kaye Griffin and husband James of Bainbridge; a sister, Sara Segal and husband John of Jasper, Indiana; a brother, Vann Lane and wife Dana of Bainbridge; close family friend, Jeff Hanner and wife Julie; four nieces and six nephews.
A memorial service was held at four o’clock on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Dawson United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dawson United Methodist Church, American Diabetes Association or a favorite charity.
Harvey Funeral Home of Dawson was in charge of arrangements.
