In their Tuesday road victory over the Lady Trojans the Lady Cats jumped ahead 5-0 after three innings.

A walk to shortstop Meagan Harrison, an error and a two run single by center fielder Haley Thompson put the Lady Cats ahead 2-0 in the first inning. Catcher Morgan Cannon also singled in a first inning run to increase the advantage to 3-0.

Cannon also tripled in two runs in the fourth inning to put the Lady Cats out front 5-0.

The Lady Cats scored their final five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Right fielder Zakiya Callaway ignited the rally with an RBI single, driving in third baseman Tykira Adams.

“Winning pitcher Brooke Bates turned in a really strong performance,” Thomas said. “She struck out six and did not walk a batter.”
