Mr. and Mrs. Michael Betts of Climax and Mrs. Mildred Betts of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Staci Betts of Athens, to Louis Simpson, son of Mr. Larry and Mrs. Linda Simpson of Tallahassee, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carolyn Johnson and the late Mr. Forrest Johnson of Whigham and of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Betts of Climax. She is a 1997 graduate of Bainbridge High School and attended Shorter College, Georgia State University and the University of Georgia, graduating with degrees in middle grades education and educational leadership. She is employed by the Walton County Board of Education.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Luther Vaughn and also the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus M. Simpson, all of Jacksonville, Fla.
