Coach Megan McRae’s Grace Christian Academy cheerleaders hosted a Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders private camp Monday, July 28, through Wednesday, July 30.
McRae said her Grace squad, made up of 11 seventh through eleventh grade students, learned a lot at the camp.
“Our varsity squad learned new jumps, stunts, cheers and dances that will really get our students and other game visitors at Perry Memorial Gymnasium fired up and behind our teams,” McRae said. “The camp was just a great experience for everybody. The spirit and enthusiasm were outstanding all three days.”
One of the camp highlights came when the squad learned an amazing half time routine that they cannot wait to show off when the Cougars and Lady Cougars basketball season gets underway, McRae said.
The camp instructor was Traviera “Peaches” Sewell a rising senior cheerleader at the University of Georgia where she is majoring in middle school education. She kept the spirit going and had all the girls involved every day.
Grace cheerleading squad camp participants included Kate McRae, Emellia Woodrum, Mikey Harrell, Hallie Jordan and Gabby Hardy.
Also participating in camp were cheerleaders McKenzie Brown, Cassie Long, Perra Harrell, Abigail Mills, Caroline Wells and Sarah Castoro.
