Junior development tennis programs in two youth areas will begin in early August at Bill Reynolds Tennis Center.
The Future Stars Program that introduces the game of tennis to 4 to 8-year-olds will be taught in two sessions. The Future Stars I session will be from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, and the Super Stars II session will be from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The cost will be $40 for tennis center members and $55 for non-members.
The beginner program for 9 to 18-year-olds is for youngsters who need basic tennis techniques, have never played tennis and want to take it as a hobby or form of exercise. It will be Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. The cost is $40.
For tennis center members and $55 for non-members.
City professional Alfred Koripamo and head professional Tim Thompson urge youngsters to come out and get involved in the city’s tennis programs.
“Playing a sport like tennis can be fun and allow you to work some important muscles,” Koripamo said Friday.
