Mr. Charles E. Thomas, 61, affectionately known as “Peewee,” formerly of Bainbridge, departed this life July 2, 2014. He was born Dec. 9, 1953 to the late Louise Thomas and Albert Thomas Jr. in Bainbridge. He was one of six children blessed to their union. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Peewee attended Bainbridge Sr. High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Upon graduation he moved to Miami to live and became a longshoreman at Local 416, 816 N.W. 2nd Ave. for 23 years.
Peewee touched the lives of many through his smile and generous nature. He maintained his trademark sense of humor. He did it his way. He loved helping other people. It brought him enjoyment.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Kelvin Thomas of Miami; three brothers, Rance Thomas, Louis Thomas, Albert Thomas; one sister Bertha Thomas. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Guyton Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Greater Macedonia M.B. Church. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery on Cooktown Road.
