Barracudas claim top spots in Moutlrie last Saturday

Strong performances by Eion Turner and teammate Dax Willis paced the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Barracudas swim team to a strong performance in Saturday’s Moultrie Invitational Meet.
Turner and Carussa White, who were swimmers of the week Saturday, and Christie Whitaker and Brooklyn Willis, who were swimmers of the week last Saturday at Thomasville Invitational Meet, were all honored prior to Monday morning’s practice at the Bainbridge city pool.
Saturday in Moultrie, Eion Turner finished fourth in the backstroke and eighth in the 25-yard freestyle and Dax Willis finished second in the 25-yard breaststroke, fourth in the 100-yard individual medley, sixth in the 25-yard backstroke, sixth in the 25-yard freestyle, and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Also turning in a strong performance was Brooklyn Willis, who was swimmer of the week in last Saturday’s Thomasville YMCA Invitational Meet.
Willis finished fifth in the 200-yard medley relay and sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Ali Bennett also had a strong Moultrie performance. She was second in the 25-yard backstroke, fifth in the 25-yard freestyle, sixth in the 25-yard breaststroke, sixth in the 50-yard freestyle and 11th in the 25-yard butterfly.
Emily Sullivan was third in the 50-yard breaststroke fifth in the 200-yard medley relay, fifth in the 100-yard individual medley, sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay, seventh in the 50-yard backstroke and 10th in the 100-yard freestyle.
Thad Whitaker was eighth in the 50-yard butterfly, ninth in the 50-yard freestyle, ninth in the 50-yard backstroke, 10th in the 100-yard individual medley and 11th in the 100-yard freestyle.
Sandy Baker was fourth in the 50-yard butterfly, fifth in the 200-yard medley relay, sixth in the 200-yard freestyle, and sixth in the 50-yard backstroke.
Masey Tabb took fifth in the 200-yard medley relay, sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay, and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle. Ryan Smith took eighth in the 50-yard butterfly and Josh Fillingame took 12th in the 25-yard breaststroke.
