Sandra Faye Batts, 67, of Lake Seminole, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Bainbridge Church of God with Pastor Jamie Rivera officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Kelley, Tim
McClaughlin, Waylon Day, Lyn Floyd, Wade Lang, and Marc Polluck serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Bainbridge Church of God. The scheduled Gospel Sing will still be held in the Bainbridge Church of God gymnasium to honor the memory of Mrs. Batts. Memorial donations may be made to the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen, P.O. Box 863, Bainbridge, GA 39818.
Mrs. Batts was born July 11, 1946 in Bainbridge, and was a retired food service manager with 28 years of service with the Decatur County Board of Education at Jones Wheat Elementary School. She loved her God, her family and her church. Cooking was a favorite pasttime and she was a supporter of the Bainbridge Soup Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Oliver Valentine; and her mother, Doris Merle Batts.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Jack Batts, of Lake Seminole; her daughters, Veda Adkins and her husband, Richard, of Altha, Florida, Pamela Newsome and her husband, Dennis, of Donalsonville, and Nicole Glass and her husband, Steve, of Bainbridge; her brother, Oliver DeVaughn Valentine and his wife, Theresa, of Villa Rica, Georgia; her grandchildren, Christina Gordon, Niklas Isler, Hannah Klock, Hadleigh Klock, and Haydyn
Klock; her great-grandson, Landon Cash Tipton; and her sister-in-law, Sandra B. Harrell of Bainbridge.
