Funeral services for Harold Ray Walden, 71, of Cairo, Georgia, were at 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo. Rev. Stacy Glover officiated. Services concluded at the Chapel. Interment was in Providence Cemetery, Whigham, Ga. Mr. Walden passed away at his home in Grady County on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
Active pallbearers were be: Bo Harrell, Gary Howell, Rocky Ezell, Chip Wells, Eric Walden, and Gary Hancock.
Mr. Walden was born on May 28, 1942, in Whigham, to the late Marvin Jones Walden and Bernice Johnson Walden. On April 19, 1980, he married Melinda Marie Walden, who survives. Ray was an avid carpenter, handyman, and general contractor. After he retired, he enjoyed tinkering in his workshop on numerous projects with his best canine friend, Festus. Mr. Walden was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include: wife, Marie Walden of Cairo; children and spouses, Kelly Lewis and Terry Tilly of Cairo, Sonya Pyles and Bodie Stephens of Cairo, Ronnie and Elizabeth Walden of Eagle River, Alaska, Jason Walden and Angela DeLion of Marietta, Ga.; grandchildren and spouses, Dylan Lewis of Ramstein, Germany, Molly Lewis of Gulfport, Miss., Reagan Walden and Riley Walden of Eagle River, Alaska, Gavin Walden of Marietta, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Gerrie Walden of Denver, Colo., Ken and Nancy Walden of Whigham, Shirley Walden of Whigham, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Bobby Hancock of Cairo, June and Richard Wells of Quincy, Fla.
He was preceded in death by brothers, J.M. Walden and Charles Walden.

The family received friends immediately following the service at Clark Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
