Bainbridge High School Senior golfer Maclane Suber has been selected to receive the 2014 Charles Lloyd “Tra” Palmer Award for his commitment to the game and positive attitude both on and off the course.
“It is an honor to receive an award in Tra Palmer’s name,” Suber said. “I have heard about what a great sportsman and dedicated golfer he was. I also want to thank coach Tom Wheeler for all he has done for me. He has been my golf coach since I was in the eighth grade.”
The award, named after a Bearcat golfer who lost his life in an automobile accident, is meant to honor three traits that defined Palmer—loyalty, integrity and scholarship.
“Maclane fits the criteria of the Tra Palmer Award to a T,” Wheeler said. “He is a great teammate and a great competitor. He also has a sense of humor that keeps everybody loose.”
