Interim principal named at West Bainbridge Elem.

Jamie Ard, currently the assistant principal at John Johnson Elementary School, has been named interim principal at West Bainbridge Elementary School. The position became vacant when Allyson Matthews retired from the school and the school system effective May 1.
Ard’s promotion and numerous other personnel recommendations were approved by the Board of Education. during Thursday night’s meeting.
“We’re pleased that Jamie has accepted the challenge to lead that school,” said Dr. Fred Rayfield, Decatur County School Superintendent. “He is one of the best young leaders that we have in the system, we’re delighted that he is interested in that role and happy that he accepted. Looking forward to a great year with Jamie leading West Bainbridge.”
Natalie Zajac was hired into the system as a Visually Impaired teacher. At Bainbridge High School, SMSgt Scott Morehouse was approved as a Junior ROTC instructor.
There will be three new additions at Bainbridge MiddleSchool next year. David Mackey, Melissa Tucker Franklin, and Kirby Bodifordwere all hired to work at BMS.
Melissa Brock was hired as a media specialist and Amanda Gossett was hired as a teacher at Elcan-King Elementary School.
