Sidney Van Williams

Sidney Van Williams, 65, of Iron City, went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2014 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Rev. Jimmie Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. at the chapel.
Van was born in Seminole County on July 27, 1948 to Zaywood L. and Doris Glisson Williams. Born with Down Syndrome, Van was a special gift from God. He was very loving and the center of the family. He had a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
Van is survived by two brothers and two sisters; Ronnie B. Williams and his wife, Louise, of Ashford, Alabama, Lanny J. Williams and his wife, Kay, of Iron City; Kathy W. Scott and her husband, Carl, of Iron City; and Regina W. Rebrook and her husband, Dee, of Brinson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Wendy Williams, Alana W. Tipton, Brett E. Sexton, and Will Scott; as well as, five great nieces, one great nephew, and one great-great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zaywood and Doris Williams; a nephew, Bruce Williams; and a niece, Rhonda W. Smith.
