The United Way of Bainbridge will be trimming down tree limbs, painting stairwells and collecting donations for the community Saturday at the Friendship House on Russ Street.
The local organization that works to fundraise and collect donations for nonprofit agencies in Decatur County, like the Friendship House, will be having its Day of Action Saturday, where volunteers gear up to make a difference by doing a specific project for one of their agencies.
United Way director Kim Walden said the group of volunteers from United Way and the community will be painting staircases, working in the yard and doing a power washing project at the Friendship House.
“What we need Saturday is donations,” Walden said. “We are collecting canned goods for the food bank and peanut butter, as well as business supplies for our agencies like the Layman Brotherhood.
The group will be working from 8 a.m. until noon and members of the community are welcome to bring their donations as well as volunteer.
