It has been said that the Decatur County community cannot be challenged when it comes to generosity and support for charitable causes. Relay for Life in Decatur County is no exception. While many families in the country, and especially in the community continue to struggle financially, it seems that everyone is ready to give to one cause — and that is ending cancer.
Saturday, volunteers did just raise the goal amount of $67,000. They went over, $10,000 over to end this disease. Volunteers did just show up — they set up creative tents, brought their friends and made an entire day of the special event that brings so many people together. Without the support from churches, businesses and community members the goals would have never been reached. Thank you for being generous and working to make the word, “cancer” a thing of the past.
