Middle school and J.V. soccer wrap up seasons

The Bainbridge junior varsity and middle school soccer teams concluded their seasons with contests against Cairo and Thomas County Central, respectively.
In Cairo, The Lady Cats J.V. squad gave an inspired effort, losing 2-1 to the Lady Syrupmakers with Bainbridge forward Dierelle Brown scoring the Lady Cats lone score.
Freshman goal keeper Vena Mills gave a great effort with 12 saves in the loss, three of which came from point blank shots with only seconds remaining in the contest. In the boys J.V. contest, Cairo was able to score two second half goals and pull away with a 3-1 victory.
Bainbridge’s lone goal came in the waning minutes of the game as forward Trayvaious Kirksey tapped in a deflected shot from two yards out.
In the middle school contests at the Thomas County Central soccer field, the Lady Cats were defeated 1-0, while the Bearcats came up on the short end of a 3-2 score.
Both teams gave great efforts despite the losses and showed tremendous improvement throughout the season. Scoring goals for the middle school Bearcats were Forward Jacob Harris and midfielder Calvonte Johnson.
