Officials are saying the River Town Days festivities in Bainbridge will end early on Sunday.

Due to the severe weather — thunderstorms predicted for later in the day — officials have cancelled River Town Days events for Sunday, March 16. The festivities began Friday with the Flames on the Flint BBQ competition, Bassmaster Elite Series tournament and live musical performances. The event saw large crowds Friday and thousands of visitors turned out Saturday for the weekend events which included performances by Jacob Powell and the Michael Miller Band.

The BASS weigh-in was scheduled for 4 p.m. but the tournament ended early Sunday when heavy rains hit the area at 12 p.m.
