On the morning of March 12, 2014, Jerry passed away peacefully of natural causes at her daughter’s home in Quincy, Fla., surrounded by family. She was 81 years old.
Jerry was born in Cairo, Ga. on Aug.  30, 1932. She was the third child of Gussie and Allone Sellers.
Jerry loved to work with the public. She began working at A.L. Wilson Company in the late 1950s and continued until the store closed in 1986. She was a seamstress at Higdon Casket Co. for four years. She then began a 15-year-long career at Massey Drugs where she worked as a sales clerk, handling purchasing, ordering, and pricing.
She always looked forward to Easter where she was able to show her crafty talents by making extraordinarily beautiful Easter Baskets. She made these every year with love for all the children in the area.
Jerry loved sewing, crafting and collecting porcelain chicken figurines. She was a devout member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 50 years, and then was a member of Forest Hill Methodist Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Isaac A. Brock; her mother and father, Gussie and Allone Sellers; her brother Neal Sellers; and sister Virginia Todd.
She is survived by her sons Dewaine Brock of Quincy, Lavaughn (Brenda) Brock of Lady Lake, Fla.; and daughter Imaglen (Danny) Parramore of Quincy; sister Irene (Ty) Bennett; brother Arthur (Linda) Sellers, all of Quincy; husband James Olivent of Hannatown, Ga.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Kathy Glisson and to Big Bend Hospice for their thoughtful care of Jerry. Donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL, 32308.
A graveside service was held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy.
