Bearcats and Lady Cats named to All-Region

Coach Rickey McCullough’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and coach Kelvin Cochran’s Bainbridge High School Lady Cats basketball teams each placed two players on the first team and one player on the second team of the All-Region 1-AAAAA basketball team released this week by the Region 1-AAAAA coaches.
Bearcats named to the first team were sophomore Tyree Crump, who averaged 22.4 points a game, and sophomore Travon Shaw who averaged 8 points a game and 8 rebounds a game.
Bearcat senior Stephen Johnson was named to the second team. He averaged 5 points a game and 6 rebounds a game.
Lady Cats named to the first team were junior Alexandria Carter who averaged 10 points a game and 1.2 assists a game and junior Patra Parris who averaged 12 points a game and 8.6 rebounds a game.
Lady Cats junior Tameria Levens was named to the second team. She averaged 7.2 points a game, four rebounds a game and 5.2 assists a game.
Bearcats sophomore Devontae Jones, who averaged 6.5 points a game, Lady Cats junior point guard Beonka Madge, who averaged 7 points a game and 3.8 assists a game and Lady Cats junior forward Longeisha Emanuel, who averaged 4.9 points a game and 5.5 rebounds a game, were All-Region 1AAAAA honorable mention selections.
