Michael T. Blanton, 57, of Whigham, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Blanton and Emory Carlton officiating.
Interment was at Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends at Ivey Funeral Home, prior to the service.

Mr. Blanton was born April 20, 1956 in Hollywood, Fla., the son of Norman Evan
Blanton and Lois Merlene Bridges Blanton.
He was a graduate of Taylor High School in Perry, Fla. and Lively Vocational and Technical College with a degree in forestry.
Mr. Blanton was a diesel mechanic with Knight Forestry and was a member of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church.Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his father, Norman Evan Blanton.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Blanton of Whigham; his children, Daniel Blanton and his wife, Selena, of Perry, Katie Blanton of Perry, Heather Holley and her husband, Scott Stocker, of Thomasville, Ga., David Stocker and his wife, Tasha, of Thomasville, and Rachel Blanton of Perry; his siblings, Janice Ross and her husband, Nelson, of Perry, June Whiddon of Climax, and Wayne Blanton and his wife, Patricia, of Climax; his mother, Lois Blanton of Climax; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Shai-la, Haley, Greenlee, Shai-an, Keith, Imani, and Amya; and his special cousin, Larry Blanton.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge.
