Mahalie Crawford

Mrs. Mahalie Crawford, 103, of Bainbridge departed this life Feb. 15, 2014 at Bainbridge Memorial Manor.
Born in Blakely, Ga., Mrs. Crawford had been a long time resident of Bainbridge for more than sixty years. A woman of extraordinary strength, courage and faith, she received great joy from her children and family. Because of her deeds, she knew first hand of the personal joy and fulfillment that is the gift of giving. Her empathy and concern for others, especially children, and faith in the grace of God, released an outpouring of creative spirit that had a positive impact for many throughout the communities in which she lived and worked.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Crawford. Together they had seven children. Four children preceded her in death; Rebecca Henry, Lois Ward, Mary Ann Green and Frank Crawford. Mrs. Crawford is survived by three children; Clinton Crawford, Joan Turner and Helen Jackson. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
The greater family, friends and community have been and will continue to be inspired by her long and meaningful life of example, service and generosity.
The family is extremely appreciative for the support and kindness of many throughout the Bainbridge community at this time.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Guyton Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at First A.B. Church on Webster Street. Burial will be in St. Maryland Baptist Church Cemetery in Blakely, GA.
