Humble leaders will change our city

Those that left the Chamber Awards Banquet Thursday left hearing amazing speeches. At most events where awards are given, from Chamber Awards to the Academy Awards, some speeches are simple, some polite, but some blow you away.
Chamber members who listened to the multiple award recipients give their speeches will tell you every speech was one that blew the audience away and for one simple reason — they all acknowledged something bigger in the world steering the city on its course.
These men and women who lead the community, like Charles Tyson, Charles Bowles, Roslyn Palmer, June Faircloth, Chip Nix, Mike Walsingham and Jerry and Tony Cooper all have something special as community leaders. That characteristic is humility. Our humble and passionate leaders in Bainbridge and Decatur County will surely lead us into a new era.
The reason they are humble is because these individuals care more about the community than they care about themselves.
