Annual Kiwanis 5K and 10K runs race to another success

Bainbridge brothers Chase and Kyle Harris won Saturday’s 10th annual Bainbridge Kiwanis Club’s River Runs Saturday at the Earle May Boat Basin.
Chase won the 5K Run by covering the 3.1-mile course in a time of 17:25.39 and Kyle won the 10K Run by covering the 6.2-mile course in a time of 35:42.66.
Bainbridge Paige Braswell won the 5K girls championship with a time of 20:10.83 and Elena Oslund of Albany won the 10K girls championship with a time of 41:50.65.
Following the event Kiwanis Cub president Nan McIntosh presented engraved River Run wooden boat paddles to the four winners and medals to the top three finishers in each of eight male and female age divisions.

“Both courses were challenging and I congratulate the overall winners and the age division medal winners,” McIntosh said. “We had 87 overall runners and that is great. By competing, they helped raise funds for our community service event and fund raising project which benefits the children of Decatur County.”
The top three finishers in the 14-and-under male 5K division were Caleb Harris, Mike Houston Junior and Colby Nix. The three finishers in the 14-and-under female 5K divisions were Sarah Houston, Abby Armstrong and Sandy Baker.
The top finisher in 14 and under male 10K division was Benjamin White. The top two finishers in the 15 to 19 male 5K divisions were overall winner Chase Harris and Dre Banks. The top two finishers in the 15 to 19 female 5K division were overall female winner Paige Braswell and Heather Warren.
The top three finishers in the 15 to 19 male 10K divisions were overall winner Kyle Harris, Perry Waddell and David Brock. Overall winners were Kyle Harris, Perry Waddell and David Brock.
The top two finishers in the 20 to 29 male 5K divisions were Arnold DeJesus and Paul Merkt. The top finisher in the 20 to 29 female 5K division was Sonia Casillas.
The top two finishers in the 30 to 39 male 5K division were Chip Nix and Elijah Miranda. The top two finishers in the 30 to 39 female 5K division were Deann Garcia Gayle Smith.
The top three finishers in the 40 to 49 male 5K division were Michael Raybon and Mike Bailey. The top three finishers in the 40 to 49 male female 5K division were Rima Rosman, Ana Baker and Lucy Olivas.
The top two finishers in the 50 to 59 male 5K division were Butch Binford and Glen Warren.
The top three finishers in the 50 to 59 female 5K division were Hollie Lloyd, Alice Warner and Dana Raybon.
Jerry Armstrong won the 60 to 69 male 5K division The top three finishers in the 60 to 69 female 5K division were Paula Grollman, Paula Chambers and Susan Ralph. Barbara Hudson won the 70 and over female 5K division.
The top two finishers in the 20 t0 29 male 10K division were Reikan Lin and JohnnHemones. The top three finishers in 20 to 29 female 10K division were Elena Oslund Michelle Perry and Dale French. The top three 30 to 39 male 10K finishers were Nathan Adams, Thomas Biance and Lance Wilson.
The top three 40 to 49 male 10K division finishers were Myles Gibson, Greg Waddell and Phillip Sura.  The top three 40 to 49 female 10K division finishers were Mary Anne Grayson, Carolyn Houston and Julia Sura.
The top three 50 to 59 male 10K division finishers were Joey Harvey, Stacey Shuman and Richard Noname. The top three 50 to 59 female 10K division finishers were Paula O’Neil, Debbie Peters and Anita King. Bob Hodges won the 60 to 69 male 10K division and Dan Bowser won the 70 and over male 10K division.
