Woodrow Leggett Odom

Woodrow Leggett Odom, 54, of 124 Bud Harrell Rd., Bainbridge, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2013, at the home of his mother in Bainbridge.

His funeral was held Tuesday morning, Dec. 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Climax Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Poppell and Rev. Tim Harrell officiating the church service and Rev. Milton Harrison conducting the interment service held at the Mt. Olive Cemetery on Mt. Olive Church Road.

Pallbearers were Dale Brown, Darrell Odom, Roy Odom Jr., Boulder Brown, Don Whitmire, Steve Novak, Christian Novak and Wesley Salter.

The family received friends at the church for one hour prior to the funeral.

Mr. Odom was born Aug.4, 1959 in Donalsonville, Ga. to the late Woodrow Leggett Odom and to his mother, Mrs. Palestine Tomlinson Pearce.

He was a meat cutter for Harvey’s supermarket before he became disabled. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Bainbridge.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister; Donna Cook and a daughter, Andrea Ruth Odom Ward.

Survivors include his mother, Palestine Pearce and his step-father, Leonard Pearce of Bainbridge; his daughter, Alexis Odom of Bainbridge; a sister, Kathy Davis and husband Gary of Leesburg, Ga.; and a brother, Sam Odom of Bainbridge.

Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, Inc. of Blakely was in charge of arrangements.
