PerryHazel Perry, 99, of Attapulgus, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.
She was at Grady General Hospital in Cairo,  following a serious fall at
her home east of Attapulgus.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
Dec. 11, 2013 at Johnson Family Cemetery located on Kemp Road near
Attapulgus, with Pastor Jerry Harrell officiating.
Serving as active
pallbearers will be Cal Bryant, Eddie Erving, Randy Erving, Lawrence Irick,
Kenneth Spooner, and Ricky Spooner.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec.
10, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home..
Mrs. Perry was born Jan. 28, 1914 in Grady County, Ga., the eldest
daughter of William Henry Johnson and Lillie Mae Moore Johnson. She spent
her childhood east of Attapulgus in Decatur County and was a graduate of
Attapulgus High School.
After about 25 years of her adult life in Gadsden
County, Fla., she returned to Decatur County.
Mrs. Perry was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Edith Johnson;
and her brothers, Carson Johnson and Edwin Johnson. Survivors include her
daughter, Dolores Perry Hawkins and her husband, Billy, of Attapulgus,;
her son, Earl Perry of Attapulgus; her grandchildren, Gargaria Hawkins
Spooner and her husband, Kenneth, of Iron City, Ga., Jim Perry and his wife,
Leann, of Hoover, Ala., and Dan Perry and his wife, Marcy Icaza, of Temple,
Ga.; her great-grandchildren, Avery Perry of Hoover, Zoie Spooner of Iron
City, Carson Perry of Hoover, and Ryan Perry of Hoover.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
