Janey Hobbs Williams, 70, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at Attapulgus Church of God with Pastor Dana Swain officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Jerry Cooper, Ronnie Spooner, Shaun Love, Michael Barber, Bruce Bennett, Chuck Ponder, and Mason Lafferty serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 14, 1942 in Chattahoochee, Fla., the daughter of John Henry Hobbs and Willie Mae Pettis Hobbs. She was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1961, and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of Attapulgus Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Williams; and her daughter, Michele Barineau.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim Spooner and her husband, Ricky, of Climax; her brothers, Ken Hobbs of Griffin, Ga. and Gary Hobbs of Brinson, Ga.; her sister, Janet Patterson of Thomasville, Ga.; her grandchildren, Dean Goff, Chris Goff, Rick Spooner, John McLendon, and Ashley Lafferty; and 6 great-grandchildren. Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
