Funeral services for Maude Hayes Collier, 90, of Bainbridge, will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Union M.B. Baptist Church with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with the grandsons, grandsons-in-law and nephews acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. Collier was born March 6, 1923 in Miller County, and has resided in Bainbridge since the 1960s. She passed away on Nov. 11, 2013 at her home.
She was a seamstress, a laborer, a caregiver and a sales associate. She was a member of Eastern Star and of the Union Missionary Baptist Church.
She was married to Junior Collier, who predeceased her.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Freddie Hayes and Roxsie Ann Clarke Hayes.
Survivors include sons, Bobby Collier (Valerie), Marvin Collier (Lottie), Zell Bush (Glenda); daughters, Sinda Toliver Adams, Jacquelyn Shirley, Lamanda Howard and Janice Sylvester (Larry); 24 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lucy Millens (Urius); and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
