Coach Lisa Enfinger’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Region 1AAAAA fourth place finishing Lady Cats cross country teams turned in solid efforts Saturday at the State Class AAAAA Meet in Carrollton.
The Bearcats finished 23rd in the meet. They were led by Chase Harris, who finished 17th for the boys race with a time of 17:17.
The Lady Cats who finished 28th overall in their race. Paige Braswell led the Lady Cats, finishing 16th in a time of 20:36.
Harris and Braswell have both earned National Elite running status.
The Bearcats have won two consecutive Region 1AAAAA championships under coach Enfinger.
Coach Enfinger was extremely pleased with the efforts her teams turned in at the State meet.
“We are very proud of the hard work of our teams,” coach Enfinger said following the state meet.  “Our Region 1AAAAA champion Bearcats only has one senior boy, Drevyon Banks, who was part of the Region 1AAAAA championship team.
So we have the core group that will return next year.  We hope they will continue to grow and become an even stronger team next year.
“Lady Cat Paige Braswell will be graduating and will be greatly missed but our other girls are dedicated and ready to step up for the future as well.”
