The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars lost all three sets against Griffin Christian last night, not able to keep their focus for the duration of the match.
“This was the first game that we’ve actually lost that badly,” senior Mellissa Mills said. “This one I kind of feel like we all gave up a little, didn’t pull their weight.”
The first set was back and forth as each team continue to put points on the board. But the Lady Cougars slipped and couldn’t hold on first the next two sets.
“We just didn’t play Lady Cougar volleyball,” head coach Erwin Harrell said. “I challenged the ladies afterward to not let this match be the one that defines us.
Though the Lady Cougars are still celebrating their victory as Region champs, the team knows they still have some things they need to work on.
“We definitely want to work on communication, and just getting the energy up,” Mills said.
October 25-27, the Lady Cougars travel to Augusta for the GISA State tournament. Having a bi, the team will get to automatically advance to the second round and play in the Elite Eight.
“I’m very proud of the ladies and it’s been a great year, but it’s not over yet,” Harrell said.
