Seventh grade snags win, goes 3-2

Coach Blake Blake Carruthers and Bainbridge Middle School seventh grade Bearcats football team shut out the Douglas Middle School Bulldogs 32-0 Wednesday in Thomasville to improve their season record to 3-2.
The Bearcats went up 8-0 when fullback Tim Allison ran three yards up the left side for a touchdown with 3:30 remaining in the first quarter to culminate a five play 44-yard drive and tailback Tristen Love ran a sweep around the right side for the two point conversion.
Quarterback Alex Baker three a 10 yard touchdown pass to tight end Bowen Dodson with 4:56 left in the second quarter to culminate an 11 play 61 yard drive and give the Bearcats a 14-0 lead. Running back Ed Jones was stopped short when he ran up the middle on the two-point conversion attempt. Big play in the drive was a 30-yard Love run on a seep around the left side.
With 2:30 remaining in the second quarter, fullback Ed Jones ran 74 yards for a touchdown to increase the Bearcats lead to 20-0. Love was stopped short on an attempted two-point conversion sweep around the left side.
On the last play of the first half linebacker Aaron Hamilton intercepted a pass intended for the tight end and returned it for a touchdown to put the Bearcats up 26-0.
Love ran 40 yards on a sweep around the right side for the Bearcats final touchdown with 6:30 left in the fourth quarter It culminated a five play 51 yard drive.. Allison attempted to run up the middle for the two-point conversion but was stopped short.
Coach Carruthers was pleased with his team’s performance.
“Overall it was a great team win,” he said. “The defense has only given up one touchdown since the first game.”
