Flint Riverkeeper Gordon Rogers was the guest speaker at the Bainbridge Lions Club meeting Wednesday.

Rogers, who is from north Georgia, explained that waterways are a region’s most valuable natural resource, and effective conservation measures are needed. Rogers will return in September to further discuss the ecological aspect of the Flint River.

Ron Gilliard and Jim Beck, Lions Club calendar sales chairmen, rolled out the 54th annual birthday/anniversary calendar sales. Each Lions member will be soliciting households and businesses to purchase calendars featuring their birthdays and anniversaries.
