Billie L. Whiddon, 81, of Chattahoochee, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Signature HealthCare at the Courtyard, in Marianna, Fla.

The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Recovery United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlie Boyd officiating. Interment followed at Sylvania Cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, P.O. Box 429, Bainbridge, GA 39818.

Ms. Whiddon was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Decatur County, the daughter of Billy Whiddon and Mamie Andrews Whiddon. She retired as a bookkeeper for the Florida State Hospital. Ms. Whiddon was an advocate of the Humane Society and was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Whiddon, Bertie Howell and Hautence Renfroe.

Survivors include her sister, Margaret L. Johns of Recovery, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
