• American Bass Anglers Bassmaster Weekend Series (Georgia Division 8) tournament on Lake Seminole, take-off at 6:30 a.m. or safe light, weign in at 2:30 p.m. in the Earle May Boat Basin

The Decatur County Genealogical Society, Inc. will meet at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1510 W. Longleaf Drive. The program is aimed at helping those who want to learn how to begin researching their family histories.

• Beulah Thomas Baptist Church, located on Woodhull Road (off U.S. Highway 27 South) will have a homecoming celebration with the Rev. Joshua Rathel of Flat Creek Baptist Church as guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service. Dinner on the grounds and special music will follow.

St. Stephen M.B. Church, located at 156 Miss Ann’s Lane in Whigham, will have a Women’s Day celebration at 3 p.m. Sister Emma Crump-Cooper of St. Mark M.B. Church of Mitchell County, will be the featured speaker. Dinner will be served following the service.

Second Elizabeth M.B. Church, located at 2718 Attapulgus Highway, Quincy, will have a “Team Spirit” Youth service at 11 a.m. Those attending are asked to wear their favorite collegiate gear.

•  First African Baptist Church, located at 115 Church St., West Bainbridge, will conclude its 110th anniversary celebration at the 11 a.m. service with Rev. Henry Flowers III preaching. Dinner will be served.

•  Greater St. Mark M.B. Church, located at 1532 State Route 311, Camilla, will hold the 2nd annual Dorothy Mae Gaines Scholarship program at 11 a.m. with Dr. Emantavius Williams of Camilla as guest motivational speaker. Educators and parents from Decatur and Mitchell County are invited to support the scholarship program, which helps fund scholarships for deserving students in both counties.

Conyers is a Bainbridge native, the son of Willie James Conyers and the late Daisy Donalson Conyers.
