Local representatives to speak Monday

Local legislators will be the guest speakers Monday, at the Bainbridge Tea Party Group’s monthly meeting.

State Sen. Dr. Dean Burke (R-Bainbridge) and state Rep. Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville) will discuss the recently completed legislative session. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday, at the Decatur County administration office’s meeting room, located at 203 W. Broughton St. in Bainbridge.

Those who attend are asked to bring a canned good for the less fortunate, which the Tea Party Group will donate to a local food bank.

According to Tea Party Group members, Burke and Taylor will especially emphasis the legislation that they helped sponsor — or voted for — that will increase liberty, decrease the tax burden, and strengthen the sovereignty of the state of Georgia.

All Tea Party Group meeting are open to the public. The Tea Party Group is open to members of all parties, and is concerned with the goals of cutting spending, taxes and unnecessary regulations.
